Frequently asked questions
Can UV DTF transfers be used on curved surfaces?
Yes UV DTF transfers can be applied to many smooth, gently curved surfaces, including bottles, tumblers, mugs and rounded promotional items. Apply slowly, work from the centre outward and use firm, even pressure to prevent air bubbles. Very tight or compound curves can cause wrinkles, edge lift or poor adhesion, so test the intended item before production.
Do I need a laminator for UV DTF transfer sheets?
Usually, yes. Standard UV DTF transfer production uses A film for printing and B film to laminate, protect and carry the finished transfer. A cold laminator creates a more consistent bond and reduces bubbles or wrinkles. Some production machines Like our R-JET PRO DTF™ UV DTF Printers have in-line lamination integrated into the workflow, so a separate laminator may not be needed with those specific systems.
What is tilt technology and what does it enable?
Tilt technology is a specialised production capability used in compatible R-JET PRO UV 3D DTF workflows. It supports advanced material handling and allows the printer to create more than conventional flat UV DTF transfers—including premium 3D TPU patches and faux embroidery-style decoration. The R-JET PRO DTF™ UVi-3D uses a tilt-based platform to combine hard-goods decoration with these higher-value finishing applications.
